Durobac tablets are used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including:
- Urinary tract infections such as cystitis, pyelitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, and prostatitis[1][3].
- Upper and lower respiratory tract infections, including acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, otitis media, and pneumonia[1][3].
- Intestinal infections like shigellosis, enteritis, traveler’s diarrhea, typhoid and paratyphoid fever, bacillary dysentery, and cholera (as an adjunct to fluid/electrolyte replacement)[1][3].
- Serious lung infections in immunocompromised patients, especially pneumocystis carinii and pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonitis[1][3].
- Genital tract infections, including gonococcal infections[3].
- Skin and soft tissue infections, such as boils, furuncles, abscesses, pyoderma, and infections by Staphylococcus aureus[3][5].
- Other bacterial infections like acute brucellosis, mycetoma (except those caused by true fungi), nocardiosis, and acute/chronic osteomyelitis[3].
- Prevention of recurrent urinary tract infections in women[5].
- Prophylaxis (prevention) of bacterial infections in high-risk patients[5].
- Infections caused by certain parasites, e.g., toxoplasmosis[1].
